Frequently Asked Questions

What are concrete stamps made of?

Each Brickform stamping tool is crafted from a high-quality polyurethane material that is flexible, yet retains high tear strength. Polyurethane makes it possible to recreate the look and feel of natural materials with strict attention to detail.

How much are stamps for concrete?

If you are looking to buy a single concrete stamp the cost will be a few hundred dollars, while it will be a few thousand for a full set. Exact prices for Brickform concrete stamps are determined by local distributors. Find a distributor near you.

Should I buy or rent concrete stamps?

If you stamp concrete regularly, investing in your own set is the most affordable choice. Brickform stamps are built from durable polyurethane that holds up to repeated use, making them a long-term investment for your business.

For one-time or occasional projects, renting can be a good way to expand your capabilities without much cost. Many Brickform distributors offer stamp rentals, so you can test patterns or complete a specific job without purchasing your own set.

What are Brickform’s top-selling stamps?

Our top-selling stamps are:

  1. Ashlar Cut Slate
  2. Rough Stone
  3. Roman Slate
  4. Classic Wood
  5. Step Liner
  6. Random Stone
  7. Grand Ashlar
  8. Large Ashlar Cut Slate
  9. Cedar Wood Plank
  10. London Cobble

What patterns are easiest to start with?

For contractors new to stamping, seamless textures or large-patterned slates are more forgiving and help build confidence before moving into high-detail designs.

How do I choose the right stamped concrete pattern?

Start by matching the pattern to the style and purpose of the project. Large patios or driveways can handle bold, detailed designs like Grand Ashlar or Random Stone. For smaller spaces, simpler patterns such as Roman Slate or other seamless textures create a cleaner, more balanced look.

Choose patterns that complement the home’s architecture. Wood Planks and Ozark Barnwood suit rustic or coastal designs, while Ashlar Cut Slate and Rough Stone fit classic or contemporary projects. For pool decks or sloped areas, go with textures that provide good traction, and always show a sample or mockup to confirm color and finish before the pour.

You can also review photos of past jobs or browse the Brickform gallery to see how different patterns and colors work together in real projects.

Can Brickform stamps be used with overlays?

Yes. Most Brickform stamps and skins work well with overlay materials when applied at proper thickness. Always check that the overlay has enough body to hold the impression. To be sure they are compatible, use the Brickform Stampable Overlay, which is applied at ¼” to ½” thick.

How many concrete stamps do I need?

The number of stamps needed depends on the tool dimensions, project size and more. Generally, you’ll need enough concrete stamps to cover the width of the project, plus two more. Brickform stamp sets are based on a project size of 20 linear feet, if your project is larger, you may want more stamps.

Why are concrete stamps different colors?

Different stamp colors denote different patterns within a set. For example, many sets have a red, yellow and blue stamp so you can alternate between colors to reduce pattern repetition. Others are lettered A, B, and C to serve the same purpose.

What’s the best way to clean and store stamps after use?

Clean with a mild detergent and water. Avoid harsh solvents that can damage polyurethane. Allow them to dry, then store them flat and out of direct sunlight to prevent warping.
